Gaby Pilson

Gaby is a professional outdoor educator and guide with extensive experience leading groups in the Polar Regions. Her technical skills background is in small boat handling, sailing, ice climbing, and mountaineering. She has also worked as a wilderness medicine instructor with substantial experience managing risk in remote and austere environments. Academically, Gaby’s background is in geosciences—particularly glaciology and meteorology—and history, but she’s also a self-proclaimed nerd with a passion for studying nearly anything she can find.

Gaby has a love of education in all its forms. In addition to her work as an expedition Guide in the Polar Regions, Gaby has spent over a decade as an outdoor educator, instructing students in a range of technical skills as well as leadership and risk management. She also helps to run a non-profit that’s dedicated to educating young people about our planets’ oceans.
