“The reason we want to go, we want to visit, and we want to share it with our guests is the feeling of being there… you feel so small.” – Mariano Curiel
East Greenland needs to be seen to be believed. And to truly see it, you need to explore it.
That is the inspiration behind our Expedition Micro Cruises and this video. With filmmaker Ross Dixon, we have put together this short but powerful film about a mythical land of epic proportions, where ice-age wildlife and Inuit culture imbue even the remotest fjords with life, wonder, and magic.
It was amongst the giant icebergs of Scoresbysund, East Greenland, that the Expedition Micro Cruise concept was created by Secret Atlas co-founder Michele D’Agostino. It was in these fjords that Secret Atlas was born. Discover more about The Expedition That Founded Secret Atlas.
Today, our genuinely small-ship East Greenland cruises (only 12 guests) are setting new benchmarks for Greenland adventure travel. We orchestrated our first season of East Greenland expeditions in 2025 – and we can’t wait to get back there in 2026 and beyond.
In this short film, Secret Atlas co-owners, Michele D’Agostino and Mariano Curiel, along with superstar members of our expedition team, discuss what East Greenland means to them, and why an Expedition Micro Cruise is the best way to experience and appreciate it.
Secret Atlas Expedition Micro Cruises explore the polar regions with the smallest group sizes available. Experience nature at its unfiltered, undiluted, transformative best. If you are considering taking an East Greenland cruise, check out our expeditions.
