Expertise

With over 25 years of experience working in the sport, hospitality, martech, and leisure industries, I'm very curious – at times perhaps I'm a little too curious and can get trapped down a rabbithole! I like to have a 360 overview on things, and I'm good at surrounding myself with people smarter than me...

Passion

Passion is the fuel for everything I do. We only live once and it would be criminal not to make the most of it.

I'm grateful every day for the opportunity I've been given to travel, see the world, meet extraordinary people, and create value for everyone engaged with Secret Atlas, from guests to employees, partners, and beyond.

Habitat

I live in Terceira, an island in the middle of the North Atlantic, belonging to the archipelago of the Azores, Portugal. If I'm not here, I'll most likely be on board one of our expeditions in the polar regions, or sailing to discover new places somewhere in the world.

Social

"Secret Atlas was created to offer authentic and unique experiences in the remote areas of planet Earth, away from the crowds. Each team member is on a mission to bring back the long-gone spirit of exploration. Everyone shares the same burning passion for adventure, and I'm proud and grateful to be working with such an amazing group of individuals."

Questions & Answers

My most transformative travel experience

It's hard to choose just one. Seeing my first iceberg en route to Antarctica. Approaching Cape Horn when sailing back from Antarctica. Marvelling at the stunning mountains of East Greenland when sailing to Scoresbysund. Those are my top three.

My exploration inspiration

Fridtjof Nansen is one. He made lasting contributions to society through groundbreaking polar explorations, pioneering oceanographic research, and humanitarian efforts, including the creation of the Nansen passport, which granted stateless refugees international recognition.

H.W. Tilman is the second, as he combined daring exploration with a life of service, pioneering remote mountains and high-latitude sailing expeditions while inspiring self-reliance, simplicity, and the spirit of adventure.

My dream adventure

The list is too long. Secret Atlas itself is a constant adventure...
