Purpose-Designed for a 36-Guest Micro Experience

Only 36 guests, the first ship of this size in Antarctica. Four Zodiacs, every guest ashore within minutes, no queue.

An ice-class vessel, built for safety in the polar regions. Fin stabilisers for comfort at sea. Hybrid propulsion cuts emissions, low RPM cuts underwater noise, in waters where marine mammal behaviour is the reason for being there.

32 crew, 36 guests, six senior polar guides among them. A 1:6 guide ratio, and service that's personal by design.

Open decks throughout, a forward observation deck, and the bridge lounge, each its own vantage point, wherever the wildlife is.

An open-door bridge. Step into the bridge lounge and watch the expedition unfold: ice charts, radar, the next course correction, all visible, all explained.

A ship that feels as good to come back to as it does to explore from. Welcome onboard.

Welcome onboard.

What we love about Aureum

Zodiac Polar Athena Petermann Island Antarctica Jean Pauldelaharpe Secret Atlas

Luxury, redefined

Aureum's luxury is not excess. It is what 36 guests makes possible: a Zodiac deploying while you finish breakfast, a guide with time for your questions, a captain who knows your name by day two.

Being micro is the point, not the compromise.

Green Etiquette

Aureum is built to lower its footprint without altering what an expedition is.

Hybrid diesel-electric propulsion with battery support reduces CO₂ emissions and limits engine use wherever possible. Low-RPM propulsion reduces underwater noise pollution and creates a calmer atmosphere on board, wildlife watching becomes gentler for marine mammals and clearer for guests.

With a maximum of only 36 travellers, every landing is a small group by design. We move lightly through fragile polar environments, present without disturbance, and leave each place as we found it, unseen during the visit, untraced after we leave.

Cabins designed for every need

Aureum carries singles, twins, and doubles across five cabin categories including 36% single cabins, one of the highest proportions of dedicated solo accommodation in Antarctic expedition travel. No sharing, no supplement.

Guests at the bow MV Aureum -Secret Atlas

Front-row views, wherever you stand

Aureum's forward observation deck, positioned right at the bow, offers uninterrupted, front-row access to the most dramatic scenery and wildlife sightings. It's one of several exceptional vantage points the ship offers, perfectly suited to photography, whether you're capturing whales, penguins, albatross, or the icy horizon as land comes into view.

Premium Service & Comfort

Premium service starts with a crew trained to run it, and a ship designed to hold it.

Common areas are built around the expedition itself: lounge bar and restaurant, wellness area, a mudroom with direct access to the Zodiacs, and the signature Secret Atlas bridge lounge.

Active fin stabilisers keep the ship steady in open ocean so the service holds even when the water doesn't.

More time exploring. Maximum flexibility.

36 guests, six guides, no waiting. Your time is precious, and on Aureum, we make the most of it. Thanks to our small group size, seamless logistics, and experienced crew, you’ll enjoy more time ashore, exploring when conditions and wildlife encounters are at their best. We’re ready to adapt to nature’s surprises, so you never miss a moment.

Explore the furthest edges of the map…

Aureum's 1C ice-class rating and hybrid propulsion are matched to the waters this itinerary actually covers — the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, the Drake and Scotia crossings.

Bridge lounge

Step onto the bridge any time you like. Guests are welcome alongside the captain and the expedition team, reading ice charts, watching the route decided in real time, spotting wildlife together as it happens. There is no scheduled visit. It is simply open, for as long as you want to stay.

On deck

Breathe in the crisp, fresh sea air while taking in stunning polar vistas from every angle from the unobstructed forward observation deck. With endless views of the icy wilderness and wildlife, there's no better place to connect with your environment and find those unique photo opportunities.

MV Aureum Lounge Secret Atlas

Lounge

Unwind in Aureum’s guest lounge, thoughtfully designed to offer both stylish comfort and functionality. Whether you're attending an inspiring lecture or a daily expedition briefing, this inviting space is ideal for learning and connection. It's also the perfect place to relax with a book or share stories over a cup of coffee.

MV Aureum Resturant Secret Atlas

Dining room

Warm hospitality sets the tone as you savour freshly prepared, delicious dishes in an intimate setting. Whether you're enjoying a hearty breakfast before a day of exploring or sharing bottles of wine over supper with your fellow explorers, every meal on board Aureum feels like a dinner party.

Hot tub onboard MV Aureum Secret Atlas

Sauna and hot tub

The top deck holds Aureum's wellness area with a sauna, hot tub, and a gym. After a day ashore in sub-zero conditions, the sauna and hot tub are there for exactly that.
