Ombline has worked in polar (and tropical!) regions for more than 15 years – trekking and kayaking, on land and on ship, as both expedition leader and guide. She has broad experience and knowledge, but what she likes most to talk about are the impressive explorers that opened the way to us!
Impact
When Ombline is not working on ships, she works on different projects, including writing books (Nature en cœur was published in 2019) and contributing to a conservation programme in Central Asia.
Style
Dynamic! Ombline likes giving lectures on board and taking you on shore to look at flowers, ice, animals, or artefacts from the past.

My most transformative travel experience
My most memorable experience was my first landing on Beechey Island in the Northwest Passage, Canada, where some crew members from the Franklin expedition are buried...
It was snowing, with a strong wind, and I was there looking at these old graves. I felt very emotional to think of the fate of these impressive people.

I would say Anton Larsen from the Nordenskjöld expedition in Antarctica. Almost as crazy as Shackleton, but less known...
My dream adventure
The Ross Sea is my dream destination, to discover the different huts of Shackleton, Scott, Borchegrevink. Maybe even Amundsen’s one day!
