Expedition Leader

Born in the Stockholm archipelago on the Baltic Sea, Rickard grew up in the outdoors and turned his upbringing into a career as an expedition guide, primarily in the polar regions. He is truly prepared for any circumstance, certified and experienced in the safety and security of every polar expedition.

  • Advanced Fire-fighting
  • Maritime certifications in first aid, safety and security, crowd management, automatic radar plotting, radio operation, engine officer training, deck officer training, and powerboat training
  • RIB Master Course
History
  • Started his career as a dog musher and ice-cave guide in 2008
  • Went on to work as a Kayak guide in Australia, Sweden’s archipelago, Greenland, Svalbard, and Antarctica 
  • Has worked as a winter adventure trainer for the British Army: training included: dog sledding, skijoring, and cross country skiing
  • Has spent the last several years working as a full-time professional guide

As of today, he’s set foot on the North Pole five times, traversed Svalbard by dogsled, trained the British Army in Canada’s Rocky Mountains, and worked as a professional ships officer and wilderness guide on expedition vessels in Norway, Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica.

Rickard’s unwavering spirit for outdoor adventure and naturalist/polar lectures make him one of the best in his field.
