Martin Berg

Expedition Leader & Photographer

Martin Berg is a biologist, photographer, and expedition leader based in Stockholm, Sweden. Following completion of service in the Navy Marines, Martin carried out conservation assessments and bird surveys in the Amazon rainforest for various NGOs. This profound experience kindled a pursuit of knowledge, resulting in Martin attaining an Honours Degree in Biology from Lund University, followed by an MSc degree in Ecology, which spanned studies at both the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre in Canada and Lund University.

Martin’s passion for ornithology and botany has made significant contributions to numerous research endeavours, including the North Atlantic Ocean, New Zealand, and Antarctica, along with active involvement in bird preservation within the Amazon rainforest.

Martin leads expeditions that uncover the splendour of flora and fauna in diverse locations, including the Arctic tundra, Amazon rainforest, South Georgia Island, and Antarctica.

“Every animal and plant has a unique story to tell, and my goal as an expedition leader is not only to showcase their raw beauty but also to share their stories. I believe that science, tourism, and conservation go hand in hand.”
