Marit Øvstedal
Expedition Guide
If snow or ice is on the menu, Marit believes that everything is set for a fantastic day. After 13 months as the station manager at Troll in Antarctica, she enjoyed a well-deserved ski vacation before moving to the Arctic in 2016. She remains there, fueled by a passionate desire to share genuine and unfiltered experiences in Svalbard’s beautiful wilderness.
Naturally curious, she pursued education in robotics and medical instrumentation. Following her studies, she found a job at sea, allowing her to combine work and adventure. Marit’s offshore life took her to various corners of the world, but above all, it shaped her focus on safety and risk assessment. She claims that one of the greatest joys is expanding others’ horizons, contributing to their mastery, and creating moments that will forever accompany them home.
