Dividing his time between the Arctic and Antarctica, David is a respected professional polar guide from Sweden. He has led expeditions in Svalbard, Greenland, Scotland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and Antarctica.

  • Drove snowmobiles for Sweden’s Icehotel in -50 degree conditions
  • Has a wide variety of specialty skills, such as dogsled driving and kayak guiding
  • In May 2016, David followed in the footsteps of Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen and completed an unsupported 600-km crossing of Greenland’s inland ice in 27 days
  • David has spent the last several years working as a full-time professional guide

Today, David is an accomplished lecturer and loves to share his knowledge about the polar regions and history. His unique combination of skills, studies and experience make him a formidable guide and quite popular with other polar explorers!

David has been quoted to jokingly say, “I don’t like [the cold] more than the next man. I just have a weak brain and a strong heart.”
